Workshop on Advancing Equitable and Sustainable Management of Rawa Singkil Wildlife Reserve by Earthqualizer Foundation and Wilmar
The challenge of maintaining designated conservation areas which do not directly generate economic benefits remains a pressing concern, as it potentially attracts parties to exploit loopholes to extract resources from these areas illegally. Rawa Singkil Wildlife Reserve, a critical habitat for endemic flora and fauna, is facing similar challenge, with ongoing deforestation threats due to illegal logging and encroachment for development of oil palm plantations.
